Take Care of Your Leather

Anytime your product needs a little TLC, ship it back and we'll refurbish it with oils and finishes. The only expense to you is the cost to ship it our way. We'll take care of getting it back to you.

Self-service product care:

If you don't want to ship your piece, it's recommended you take a little time to apply your own TLC. Here's what you’ll need:

  • Neatsfoot oil, olive oil, or any good quality leather conditioner
  • A soft but durable rag

Apply 100% neatsfoot oil anytime it seems dry. You can also apply olive oil or any good quality leather conditioner. This will revitalize the leather and keep it looking good. When applied, the leather will darken somewhat, but it will return to its original color within a degree or two.

Breaking in new holster/rigs:

Your customized leather product will be made from top quality, vegetable-tanned, 100% USA cowhide. Before arriving, it will be treated with several coats of 100% neatsfoot oil. This protects the leather from moisture and allows it to bend without cracking.

Leather is a natural product and has a certain amount of “memory.” It will eventually break in and retain its fit.

You will probably find your new holsters have a very snug fit. This is to allow for a perfect fit after the break-in period. To speed up the break-in process:

  • Work the gun(s) in and out of the holster with a twisting motion
  • For the first couple of weeks, leave your gun(s) in the holster when not in use.

If you have any questions or concerns about your product, please feel free to call or email Circle Bar-T.
